A fund that pays out
When a member loses a covered family member, the member receives support; if the member dies, support goes to their named beneficiaries.
When loss hits, we stand together. Rooted in shared heritage, faith, and community, Matigari Adventist Welfare Organization (MAWO) brings members together to support one another through grief, because no one should face bereavement alone.

Membership combines financial help in bereavement with the care and fellowship of members who show up for one another.

Grief is lighter carried together. Members rally with calls, presence, and prayer, and the fund turns sympathy into practical support.
Members connected by shared heritage and kinship, staying in touch across the country and giving practical support where it matters.
Every member joins the same covenant: when one family grieves, everyone contributes; when support is given, everyone tops the fund back up. There are no premiums and no claims adjuster, just members who follow through for each other.
The welfare fund was launched in July 2021 to stand with members in times of grief. To date, dozens of families have been supported through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Support covers the member and their immediate family: their spouse, biological parents, biological or adopted children, and biological siblings. The member designates three beneficiaries to receive support in the event of their death. Multiple family members can join–a shared pay-out is provided in the event of a shared loss.
Membership bylawsWhen a support request is approved, all members are notified within 48 hours, and contributions replenish the fund within the 7-day window so it is ready for the next family.

Our organization began earnestly in July 2021 with just a small group of visionary individuals who believed in the power of togetherness and support. Today, that dream has grown into a strong and vibrant community, a testament to our shared belief in helping one another in times of need. Since our inception, we have assisted members during their most difficult times, providing financial and emotional support when they needed it most. These are families that have felt the warmth and care of this group, reminding us all why we came together in the first place.
Membership is through referrals. Word of mouth is how we welcome new members, and referrers also act as character references for those joining.
New members register with a one-time, non-refundable $220 fee and name the loved ones they want covered.
When a claim is approved, the bereaved family receives a payout within 48 hours, and every member contributes an equal share to replenish the fund for the next member.
Members who join complete a 90-day waiting period, contributing like everyone else before they can receive support for their own bereavement. Full rules live in the bylaws.
